I was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming which is 129 miles due north of Arvada. I worked at an Albertsons store, starting as a bagger at 15 and by the time I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Economics I was also the assistant grocery manager. I started my own business in Laramie, The Darkroom, and ran it for 11 years. I sold that business and moved to Arvada to marry my wife of 21 years, Cherilyn. I went to work for Robert Waxman Camera when it consisted of four stores and two non-retail divisions. When I left, shortly before the company was purchased by Wolf Camera of Atlanta Georgia, I was the buyer for the Industrial Division and Advanced Photo department for 12 stores. I started my own business, WORDGraphics Web Design and have been running that ever since. Eight years ago we had the pleasure of helping design then general contracting our own home here.
I have worked with my back and worked with my head. I have been blue collar, white collar and "open collar". I have worked for others and worked for myself. I have learned what is successful for businesses and what makes business hard. I haven't held elective office before, but I believe that government works better when it gets infusions of regular folks now and again. Arvada will benefit from some fresh eyes looking at how the business of our city's government is done. Contact me: |
