JEFFERSON COUNTY ROAR MEMBERS,

ROAR has sponsored and co-sponsored a few events recently featuring the candidates in the Jefferson County School Board election as well as several candidates in the municipal elections in Jefferson County.  Based on learning these candidates' stances firsthand along with our due diligence and research, we think the following candidates most closely align with ROAR's conservative principles.  The candidates' websites are provided below for those of you who may not already know them.

JEFFERSON COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD

 Preston Branaugh   www.prestonforjeffcoschools.com

Jim & Preston are also known as the "Dads" to distinguish themselves from the two women who are on the ballot (Lesley Dahlkemper & Jill Fellman).  What the ballot will not indicate about the Dads - Preston Branaugh & Jim Powers - is that they are both conservative Republicans, both are small business owners, are for school reform, are for the students and not the unions!  Their opponents are union backed so they have an abundance of signs and money for "slanted" ads.  This election is CRUCIAL!!! It has gotten statewide attention and the Jeffco GOP is backing/supporting the Dads in this election.  Jeffco has the largest budget of any school district in the state - $1.2  BILLION DOLLARS!!!  We need responsible, fiscally conservative, business leaders who will make decisions in the best interest of the students and taxpayers and will rein in the excessive, frivolous spending that has taken place in the past several years in this school district.  Currently there is ONE conservative board member out of five. If Jim & Preston are elected, they and Laura Boggs will constitute a conservative majority.

Every registered voter in Jefferson County can vote for the two seats that are open on the school board.

Following are the municipal candidates, by city, that most closely align with ROAR's conservative principals.  Again, the websites are indicated for your convenience.

There are more municipal candidates than those listed above; however, the ones listed are who gave presentations, attended meet & greets and meetings, and we became personally acquainted with.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED WITH RED OCTOBER

This upcoming election is by MAIL-IN BALLOT ONLY in Jefferson County.  The ballots will be mailed next Tuesday, October 11th.  Jefferson County GOP has requested assistance with "RED OCTOBER" - a means of "getting out the vote" by calling voters to inform that the ballots will be received in all households next week and to request the ballots be completed and returned no later than Oct. 27th so they will be received in time to be counted!

ROAR Board & OC have committed to spend a couple of hours making phone calls at the Jeffco GOP headquarters on Tuesday, October 11th, beginning at 6:00 pm.

ROAR members who can spend some time to help out with this mission, please join us at:

Jefferson County Republican Party Headquarters

13952 Denver West Parkway Building 53 Suite 450

Golden, CO 80401

If this does not fit your schedule and you would like to volunteer time calling or walking, please call 303-277-1113 or show up at the Jeffco GOP Headquarters any time Monday through Saturday 10:00 am through 8:00 pm during the month of October.

We can win these elections if conservatives don't "sit it out"!  Please vote.

With Liberty,

Jim Goad

ROAR President
